+ Head Dog Trainer
Working in collaboration with coworkers and volunteers, the Head Dog Trainer will support the behavioral well-being and successful placement of Muddy Paws Rescue (MPR) dogs through training and behavior initiatives. The Head Dog Trainer must exemplify our MPR values of being Positive, Welcoming, Supportive, and Responsive. The Head Dog Trainer will be a take-charge, animal-loving professional capable of working efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced team environment and taking full ownership of assigned projects through to successful completion. They must demonstrate positive energy and great flexibility, have a pleasant persona coupled with sound judgment, be able to anticipate training and project needs, prioritize effectively, meet deadlines, and expertly navigate challenges. This position will report to the Director of Programs and work closely with MPR’s Foster and Adoption Programs staff members.
This hybrid position combines in-person and remote work, requiring regular travel to MPR’s HQ in Hell's Kitchen, as well as to foster homes across all five boroughs of NYC and NJ. The Head Dog Trainer will be expected to work some weekends and weeknights.
This is a full-time salaried exempt position with a starting salary of $72,500 and a full benefits package, including health insurance, professional development opportunities, 401(k) matching, and other perks. MPR will reimburse a reasonable amount of travel costs directly related to required in-person training sessions.
