+ Where do adoption events take place?
Our events generally take place every Saturday at Petsmart in Flatiron (1107 Broadway), Petco in Union Square (860 Broadway), or our own Pack HQ (821 9th Ave). Our calendar above will always list all our upcoming events so you can plan accordingly!
+ How do adoption events work?
Adoption events are crucial for our dogs to receive exposure and to find their forever homes! Leading up to our events, our adoptions team schedules meetings with registered adopters. Pre-scheduled meetings will take place during the first half of our event. Meetings will also be scheduled the day of events as walk-up adopters go through the registration process and choose which dog they want to meet that day.
Meetings are generally 15-20 minutes long. Adopters must be fully registered in order to meet with a dog. If dogs are adopted during the event, they will go home with their adopters that day. If they are not adopted, they will return home with their foster parents and will be available for meetings the following week.
+ If I'm not registered yet, or don't have a meeting scheduled, when should I come by the adoption event?
Our registered adopters with pre-scheduled meetings will generally arrive during the first half of our event between 11am-12:30pm. During that time, walk-up adopters are also welcome to come by the event to have their registration forms processed if they are prepared to take home a dog that same day. However, walk-up adopters can't meet with a dog until the public event begins at 12:00pm.
We welcome walk-up adopters to also have their registration processed during our public event from 12:30pm-2:30pm, but for the best chance at adopting a dog that day, we recommend registering ahead of time and arriving as early as possible.
+ Which dogs are present on event days?
You can see exactly which pups will be at our events by viewing their bios on the Adoptable Dogs page! Please note a dog's attendance is always subject to change. Only dogs who are currently available for adoption and candidates for in-person meetings will be present on event days. Some dogs will only be available for non-event meetings due to our own capacity, or that dog’s behavior or medical status. If you are fully registered and interested in meeting a specific dog, please email our Adoptions Team at adoptionmeetings@muddypawsrescue.org prior to a Saturday event to set up a meeting. We strongly encourage keeping an eye on our website and reaching out immediately when you see a dog you are interested in!
