TWO-DAY EVENT RETURNS DURING FOOTBALL’S BIGGEST WEEKEND
Over 150 Adoptable Dogs Compete for Most Valuable Puppy (MVP) Title and the Super Senior Award
Action Begins Saturday, Feb. 1 Only on Animal Planet
January 6, 2020 – Animal Planet’s ruff-est and toughest competitions, PUPPY BOWL and DOG BOWL, return for a two-day event packed full of tail wags, belly rubs and cuteness during football’s biggest weekend. Kicking off the festivities on Saturday, February 1 at 8:00p.m. ET/PT is DOG BOWL III, a one-hour special hosted by award-winning animal advocate Jill Rappaport where more than 65 dogs from animal shelters around the country compete for the first-ever Super Senior Award. Then, on Sunday, February 2 at 3PM ET/12PM PT, 96 puppies will enter the GEICO stadium for PUPPY BOWL XVI vying for the CHEWY “Lombarky” Trophy. Not only are they competing for championship begging rights, but these good boys and good girls are also looking for their forever homes.
Muddy Paws Rescue is excited to have Barbie, a Rottweiler mix, participate in DOG BOWL as well as siblings, Liam and Lulu, in PUPPY BOWL. All three rescue dogs were originally from an open intake shelter in Kentucky and were transported up to New York City for a chance to find their forever homes.
Fans can also tailgate on Sunday February 2 with the PUPPY BOWL Pre-Game Show at 2 PM/ET and 11 AM/PT, featuring fan favorite aww-nalysis and cuddly commentary from sports correspondents, including the one and only Rodt Weiler, James Hound, and Sheena Inu serving as pre-game show analysts. Dan Schachner returns to the field for his ninth year as America’s favorite “Rufferee,” with this year promising to be the biggest and most epic game in PUPPY BOWL history!
