Frankie is Happy and Healthy, Thanks to You!
In April, Captain Marvel, now known as Frankie, arrived from Kentucky with her brothers, Thor and Wolverine. Little did we know, shortly after their arrival, these fluffy pups would need to channel the strength of each of their superhero namesakes to overcome a serious and complex case of parvovirus.
Frankie spent nearly two weeks in and out of the hospital fighting the toughest battle against parvovirus. Despite their medical bills exceeding $30,000, Frankie and her siblings (our superhero pups!) were able to overcome parvo thanks to the support of so many of you.
Her journey to recovery also caught the eye of Adam, who followed along and knew he had to meet her as soon as she was ready to be adopted.
We are now over halfway through the Pack Challenge, but we still need your help to meet this year's fundraising goal.
Over the next year, we will rely on the funds raised during the Pack Challenge to make sure that unexpected medical costs, like outbreaks of parvo, do not impede our ability to rescue over 1,000 dogs in need.
Your gift today will help us give our pups everything they need to be healthy and happy in their adoptive home, just like Frankie!
From the second Adam met Frankie, he knew she was the one. "It may sound cliche, but it was love at first sight. She had the sweetest disposition and when we sat on the floor to introduce ourselves she walked straight over and flopped into my lap, it brought me to tears." These days, Frankie is living the perfect life - enjoying energetic games of fetch, making leaping catches for her favorite stuffed toys and munching on delicious treats!
P.S. During Frankie's recovery, her foster, Tara, and her two resident pups, Dolly and Penny, formed an extra-special bond with Frankie. She always thought Dolly seemed more attached to Frankie than any of her previous fosters, and to her surprise, she recently learned why. Through DNA testing, we learned that Dolly and Frankie are actually related - possibly half siblings!
