Muddy Paws Rescue Receives $7,500 Grant from Petco Love to Save and Improve the Lives of Pets in New York City

Muddy Paws Rescue received a $7,500 grant investment from national nonprofit Petco Love in support of their lifesaving work for animals in New York City.

Petco Love is a national nonprofit leading change for pets by harnessing the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger, and healthier. Since its founding in 1999, Petco Love has invested $330 million in adoption and other lifesaving efforts. Petco Love helps find loving homes for pets in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations — like Muddy Paws Rescue — across North America, with 6.5 million pets adopted and counting.

“Our investment in Muddy Paws Rescue is part of more than $15M in investments recently announced by Petco Love to power local organizations across the country as part of our commitment to create a future in which no pet is unnecessary euthanized,” said Susanne Kogut, president of Petco Love. “Our local investments are only part of our strategy to empower animal lovers to drive lifesaving change right alongside us. We recently celebrated the one-year launch anniversary of Petco Love Lost, a national lost and found database that uses pet facial recognition technology to simplify the search for lost pets.”

“This generous funding from Petco Love will allow us to stretch our capacity to save more lives than ever before,” said Mallory Kerley, Marketing Director for Muddy Paws Rescue. “We are grateful for this support - which directly supports our ability to invest in the tools and technology we need to support a high-volume, foster-based program. We plan on increasing our intake from all our shelter partners without compromising our commitment to excellence and accessibility, all thanks to Petco Love!”

Muddy Paws Rescue is a nonprofit organization partners with open intake shelters across the U.S. to place homeless dogs into loving, forever homes. Since their inception in 2016, they have saved more than 6,000 lives. With a dedicated team of fosters, volunteers and animal welfare advocates, Muddy Paws Rescue strives to be New York City’s leader in responsible, foster-based practices.
