Muddy Paws Rescue Encourages People to Adopt a New Best Friend During Petsmart Charities National Adoption Week March 24- 30
Muddy Paws receives $30,000 grant to help more adoptable pets find people to love
New York, NY – February 24, 2025 – Pets are family, and can bring hope, companionship and unconditional love to their people. Adopting a pet in need of a home can bring joy to people and also impact communities, alleviating strain on overcrowded shelters. That’s why Muddy Paws Rescue will bring adoptable pets to PetSmart in Flatiron (1107 Broadway) for PetSmart Charities® National Adoption Week, taking place March 24 – 30, 2025. Muddy Paws aims to find homes for 30 dogs and puppies during the event.
This grant will help Muddy Paws save the lives of more than 1,000 dogs and puppies in New York by funding veterinary care, critical supplies and support for fosters.
PetSmart Charities connects adoption partners such as Muddy Paws with local PetSmart stores to bring adoptable pets in for adoption events and meet and greets. These include pets of all ages, breeds, temperaments, and energy levels. Staff and volunteers are available to help make ideal matches considering lifestyle and other preferences such as energy levels, personalities, sizes, etc.
“Muddy Paws Rescue has saved more than 9,000 dogs and puppies since 2016 - an accomplishment that would not be possible without the generous support of funders like PetSmart Charities,” said Lisa Blum, Development Director for Muddy Paws Rescue. “This grant, along with the opportunity to bring our pups to PetSmart stores, helps us give pups from crowded shelters a second chance at a loving home.”
