Muddy Paws Rescue Honored as One of Top 10 Fundraisers For Best Friends Virtual Strut Your Mutt Day
Muddy Paws Rescue is being honored by Best Friends Animal Society as one of the 10 partnering groups that raised the most money for their lifesaving work through Best Friends Virtual Strut Your Mutt Day. Placing third, the New York City-based rescue organization raised $70,495.
Muddy Paws Rescue, along with hundreds of animal rescue groups across the country, participated in the Best Friends Animal Society’s Strut Your Mutt Day, the annual walk and fundraising event that saves the lives of dogs and cats in communities across the country.
Launching more than two decades ago in Salt Lake City, Best Friends® Strut Your Mutt® expanded to several cities across the nation in 2010 with a commitment to help Best Friends Network partners raise critical funds for their lifesaving work. But Best Friends realized that this successful fundraising event did not have to be tied to a few geographical venues and added Strut Your Mutt Day in 2011 as a virtual fundraising platform that Best Friends Network partners everywhere could tailor to their needs. This year Best Friends realized the virtual Strut Your Mutt Day would be an important tool to help animal shelters and rescue groups raise money toward saving the lives of homeless dogs and cats.
Muddy Paws Marketing Director Anna Lai said, “We at Muddy Paws Rescue are so grateful to everyone who donated to help us keep saving our community’s dogs and cats. In this challenging year, your support means everything to us and to the animals. We are working with Best Friends towards the goal of taking this nation no-kill by 2025. Working together we can accomplish great things in the nation, and right here at home for our dogs and cats.”

About Best Friends Animal Society
Best Friends Animal Society is a leading national animal welfare organization dedicated to ending the killing of dogs and cats in America's shelters. In addition to running lifesaving programs in partnership with more than 3,100 animal welfare groups across the country, Best Friends has lifesaving centers in New York City, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Salt Lake City, and operates the nation's largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals. Founded in 1984, Best Friends is a pioneer in the no-kill movement and has helped reduce the number of animals killed in shelters nationwide from an estimated 17 million per year to around 625,000. That means there are still more than 1,700 dogs and cats killed every day in shelters, just because they don’t have safe places to call home. We are determined to bring the country to no-kill by the year 2025. Working collaboratively with shelters, rescue groups, other organizations and you, we will end the killing and Save Them All.
