Muddy Paws Rescue Receives $50,000 Donation From Tito’s Handmade Vodka
Funding will enable the New York nonprofit to purchase veterinary dental equipment, as well as launch a Giving Tuesday matching campaign
Muddy Paws Rescue, a New York City foster-based dog rescue, recently received a $50,000 donation from Tito’s Handmade Vodka, also known as the Vodka for Dog People. The funding will enable Muddy Paws to purchase veterinary dental equipment, as well as launch a matching campaign during Giving Tuesday in December 2024.
Many senior dogs arriving into the care of Muddy Paws have dental diseases, requiring costly care that would typically be the responsibility of the adopter. This expense can be a barrier to adoption, causing dogs to remain in foster care for longer than needed. This funding from Tito’s Handmade Vodka will allow Muddy Paws to perform dental surgeries on nearly 70 dogs – approximately three times the number of senior dogs able to be helped before receiving this funding. This will not only help make these senior dogs more adoptable, but will also free up foster homes quicker to take in more dogs.
The funding will also be used to help the nonprofit launch a Giving Tuesday matching campaign to raise funds so that Muddy Paws can continue to provide medical care for their rescues. Beginning December 3, 2024 and going through the end of the year, Tito’s Handmade Vodka will match donations dollar-for-dollar, up to $15,000, helping to double the community’s impact. More information on the matching campaign will be shared in the coming months.
“From the first distillery dogs that would eventually become family, to the many dogs that frequent our offices now, animals have always been an important part of who we are at Tito's Handmade Vodka,” said Lindsey Bates, Director of Philanthropy Operations at Tito’s Handmade Vodka. “The work that Muddy Paws Rescue does to rescue and care for animals in New York City and beyond is truly inspiring, and we are proud to provide this gift to help them continue that work.”
“We are truly grateful to have this support from Tito’s Handmade Vodka," said Lisa Blum, Development Director at Muddy Paws Rescue. “Tito’s has been a long-time supporter of our work, and their dedication to giving back to their local communities is at the heart of everything they do!”
