Grant of $5,000 will extend efforts to save more animal lives in New York City

New York, New York (March 19, 2020) – Muddy Paws Rescue of New York City announced it has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Petco Foundation to support its effort to increase their lifesaving capacity for homeless dogs in the U.S.

The Petco Foundation investment will help to bolster operations in both Muddy Paws Rescue’s Adoption and Foster Program, especially in this time of economic uncertainty as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak.

“The generous support of Petco Foundation could not have come at more crucial time. With all the uncertainty that has come along with the Coronavirus outbreak, the shelter dogs that we look to save are more vulnerable than ever. This grant will go a long way to provide resources to our Adoption and Foster Programs so that we can continue to care for our dogs in foster care and help them safely find a loving forever home,” said Rachael Ziering, Founding Executive Director of Muddy Paws Rescue.

Muddy Paws Rescue is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that partners with open-intake shelters across the U.S to place homeless dogs into loving forever homes. Since 2016, Muddy Paws Rescue has helped to save over 3,500 lives.

About the Petco Foundation

At the Petco Foundation, we believe that every animal deserves to live its best life. Since 1999, we’ve invested more than $260 million in lifesaving animal welfare work to make that happen. With our more than 4,000 animal welfare partners, we inspire and empower communities to make a difference by investing in adoption and medical care programs, spay and neuter services, pet cancer research, service and therapy animals, and numerous other lifesaving initiatives. Through our Think Adoption First program, we partner with Petco stores and animal welfare organizations across the country to increase pet adoptions. So far, we’ve helped more than 6.5 million pets find their new loving families, and we’re just getting started. Visit petcofoundation.org to learn more about how you can get involved.
